Casa Serene is in the heart of Agua Amarga, a small fishermen’s village with almost four hundred inhabitants, being a quite spot most of the year. Summers are an exception when the population triples with regular visitors from other parts of Spain. Locals are kind, generous and welcoming people.
Several shops are offering exciting clothes, swimming wear and souvenirs, including a supermarket and a corner shop. There are also nice bars and restaurants with terraces overlooking the beach and in the square of cozy Agua Amarga.
Between eight and thirty kilometres around Agua Amarga, there is a wide variety of options to eat, walk and practice sports; hiking, kayaking, snorkelling, scuba-diving, riding and caving, among others.
Agua Amarga beach is a sheltered cove of 500mts. with golden sand and all necessary facilities; chill out areas, showers, lifeguards and a red cross stand for emergencies.
How to get there?
By car from Madrid take A3 or AP36 from Albacete, then A30 to Murcia and from there the A7 direction to Almeria. Take exit 494 Carboneras; from Barcelona or Valencia take A7 direction South until exit 494 Carboneras.
By Plane: Almeria Airport is 55 km.; or Murcia (1h.30’h drive) or Malaga (2h.30’ drive) airports. There, cars on a budget can be hired.
Train or bus to Almeria (Estación Nodal is 55km. from Agua Amarga): from Madrid, Atocha Station by Talgo or a Regional train from Seville. Buses: ALSA is the company arriving in Almeria from different cities.
